Great Ming: The Villains Keep Trying to Make Me Lose Money

Zhu Shou transmigrates into the Ming Dynasty and becomes the least remarkable among Old Zhu’s many sons, a prince with a distant fief in Pingyang.

The place is so poor even the rats have to move out overnight, and his Embroidered Uniform Guards are so hard up they perform on the street to earn money for food.

Zhu Shou, a happy-go-lucky man, had planned to lie flat, but then he awakens a bizarre “get stronger by losing money” System. As long as he loses the assets under his name, he can trigger rewards and live like an immortal.

Turn the mighty Embroidered Uniform Guards into “Jinyi Express”? Every food delivery loses money, a massive loss!

Build a thirty-meter-high wall in a poor backwater? A pure waste of silver!

Give unemployment benefits to everyone in the city and build free cafeterias? Just wait for the treasury to collapse!

But fate plays a huge joke on him.

Jinyi Express monopolizes Ming logistics and brings in a fortune every day. The thirty-meter wall becomes a wonder of the world, with tourists and merchants jamming the city gates. The people spend their unemployment benefits like crazy, and taxes on commerce in his fief soar three hundredfold!

Old Zhu visits in disguise and sees “Meituan Embroidered Guards” racing through the streets and bowls of supreme beef noodles selling for five taels of silver. His blood pressure skyrockets. “I’m eating bran and vegetables in the capital, while you’re living it up here?”

Zhu Shou drops to his knees and wails, “Father! Your son really is losing money! Boo-hoo!”

Old Zhu sneers. “Enough nonsense. Move half your treasury over to me.”

Zhu Shou is overjoyed: Finally, someone is helping me lose money!

But three days later, Old Zhu’s reward convoy blocks thirty li of official road, and the gold, silver, and jewels he grants Zhu Shou are worth even more than what he took away...

[System Notice: Congratulations, Host! Your assets have reached a new high! You are still eight million taels short of your loss target!]

Zhu Shou throws his head back and howls: I can’t go on living like this!!!
