[A wonderfully relaxing cultivation-and-farming story, all about taking it easy, daily life, and fun!]
Chu He dies suddenly after staying up all night. When he opens his eyes again, he finds he hasn’t become a prodigy or an emperor, but instead…
a spirit-locking ward on the gate of the Qingyun Sect’s Scripture Pavilion.
He can’t move or speak. All he can do is hang on the gate, watch people come and go, and help guard against theft.
Fortunately, he binds himself to the [Spirit-Locking Archive System]:
- Every cultivation technique entering or leaving the Scripture Pavilion is automatically recorded.
- He finds bugs and fixes them along the way.
- Each technique he repairs earns him rewards like enhanced perception, spiritual energy, and minor formation abilities.
And so the Qingyun Sect gains a gate that “secretly revises cultivation techniques.”
- A good-for-nothing disciple spends every day copying the “Qi-Guiding Art” by the gate. Chu He quietly improves the text, and the disciple masters it overnight, successfully guiding qi.
- A mediocre junior sister meditates in front of the gate, struggling to circulate her energy. Chu He casually adjusts her qi, and her sword intent grows steadier and steadier.
- A demonic cultivator sneaks into the back mountain and reaches out to test the gate. The next moment, he’s already at the bottom of a cliff.
The entire sect comes to an understanding:
“That old ancestor by the Scripture Pavilion gate is still watching over us.”
Someone hits a wall in their cultivation and comes to sit by the gate for a while.
Someone gets hurt and takes a moment to rest as they pass by.
Someone can’t grasp a lesson, so they meditate by the threshold all night and suddenly has a breakthrough the next day.
Chu He:
I’m just a door lock forced to take the job, mostly hanging on the gate to “keep an eye on the kids” and “touch up the scriptures when I get the chance.”
Kneel or bow all you want. It’s up to you.
But no one gets to touch a single book in my Scripture Pavilion without swiping their card!
