Klein was a typical citizen of the 56th-century Interstellar Federation, and life in this era was wonderful.
But unlike the children who had moms and mummies looking after them from birth, Klein had no one. All she knew was that she'd been abandoned, and she'd spent her childhood in an orphanage. And unlike healthy humans with strong bodies and a way with words, Klein was different: she had a non-genetic speech disorder, commonly known as mutism.
Until one day, two bugs came looking for her.
