The Grafting Day
June 7, 2124, the first day of the national college entrance exam.
Every history book written afterward began with this sentence. Not because the date was important, but because before that day, humanity counted years using the Common Era; after it, humanity used the Grafting Calendar. The Common Era became an obsolete unit, like a finished book returned to the shelf and never opened again.
But people at the time didn't know that.
All they knew was that it was an unbearably hot summer.
