The old king is assassinated, and the ancient empire crumbles. Roland, the family’s disgraced second son, has been cast aside and exiled to the icy frontier with just a few dozen old, weak, sick, and disabled followers. He must also face the onslaught of beastmen and rebels. Just when all seems lost, his tens of thousands of hours of experience with Paradox strategy and Total War games from his previous life awaken, and a “National Focus and Modifier Tree” unfolds before his eyes! When the empire’s proud Griffin Knights prepare to crush the frontier, they find themselves facing an army of “Chosen Serfs” with [Morale +300%], [All Units Frenzied: Pain Ignored], and [Marching Supply Consumption -100%]. Standing atop his lord’s tower, Roland sweeps a finger across the sand table. “You think you can crush my micro with that? You have no idea what it means to overwhelm someone with sheer stats!” As one absurd super-wonder after another rises from the ruins of the old empire, and the technology tree begins to unlock increasingly outrageous and unknown fields, the lofty old gods and imperial rulers finally realize in terror: what kind of terrifying war machine has this man, who calls himself an “Archon,” brought into being?
