Laid-Back Country Living: I Picked Up an Orange Cat from the Start, but Is It a Tiger Cub?

[No Female Lead] [Slow Pace] [Heartwarming] [Gourmet] [Cute Pets] [Laid-Back Countryside] [Everyday Life] “Hey, everyone, day one at my old mountain home, and I found a little orange cat.” After being worked to the bone in the city’s 996 grind, Shen Mu finally saw the light when he got laid off. He grabbed his things and made a run for it, heading straight back to his old home on Yunqi Mountain to lie flat and enjoy retirement! On his very first day back in the village, he found an orange cat on the verge of death in a pile of firewood. Facing the livestream camera, Shen Mu raised the tiny ball of fur in his hands. It had black stripes and a faint character “Wang” on its forehead. The whole internet went wild: “What the hell do you mean, orange cat? Put it down! That’s a South China tiger, the kind of beast that’ll land you in prison for life!” “Holy crap! You call that an orange cat? That’s a beast that’ll put you behind bars for life!” “Breaking news! The streamer’s simple meal cooked over a wood fire has made three million viewers drool!” “His handiwork is incredible. He built a wooden cabin with his bare hands. Is he Lu Ban reincarnated or something?” Shen Mu’s daily routine consists of growing vegetables, cooking, petting a tiger cub, teasing the village mutt, and occasionally playing a tune at sunset that draws every bird in the area. His former coworkers, who had mocked him for returning to the village with nothing to show for himself, were now green with envy: “You call that unemployment? Even a god wouldn’t trade that life for anything!” And when wildlife photographer Lin Nianchu entered his life, viewers got even more jealous: “Not only do you get to pet a tiger, you’ve got a beautiful woman by your side too. You’re living the dream!”
