Upright sword cultivator and leader of the righteous path, Gan Nanxue ✖ dark, sickly-obsessive villain, Ci Qing
Gan Nanxue was the foremost sword cultivator. Then one day, she fell off a cliff. Her sect was destroyed, her bones and sinews were shattered, and she became a useless outcast everyone despised. They all said she was cursed with misfortune.
When she risked her life to protect her junior sister, the Witch Lord, who was traveling the mortal world, saved them both. His explanation was simple: “You looked familiar!”
They decided to head to the capital to obtain a treasure of the mortal world. But they never expected that their junior sister, the sect member they most needed to protect, was the long-lost princess of the current empress dowager. To bring peace to the mortal world, Ci Qing helped her regain her magic. In exchange, she would have to become the goddess who had vanished from the world a thousand years ago.
When she struck down her enemy with a single sword stroke, everyone cheered and called her a goddess descended from heaven.
To repel the demon clan, Ci Qing took Gan Nanxue into the past to find a way to seal the demon realm.
In her first life, she was a despised concubine-born daughter, abandoned in the wilderness and never valued. After helping those in power conquer the realm, she retired to the mountains.
In her second life, Gan Nanxue became the orphaned child of an old friend. She was wounded by an evil spirit, then saved by that same spirit, and eventually vanished from the world.
At last, she became Wudu, the goddess who had been renowned throughout the six realms for centuries. She learned that beneath Wudu’s restraint lay a sorrow too deep to bear. To save all living things, she severed herself from heaven and earth, all to seal away the depraved members of the divine clan.
After obtaining the secret sealing technique, they discovered that the person who had loved Wudu so deeply a thousand years ago was none other than the old monster right beside them! But they never expected that she would become the elder of the Apricot Grove who defected from the demon clan!
Ci Qing merely smiled. “You and I were fated in a past life, and in this life, we cannot bear to part.”
