Baby, I'm Here to Take Your Place

[Rekindled love after a breakup + Reunion after years apart + Obsessive devotion + Intense push and pull + Both leads are sexually inexperienced] Bo Hexing, heir to the powerful Bo family in Jingbei, is distinguished and aloof, an unattainable prize for countless society ladies. No one knows that three years ago, a woman dumped him. When they meet again, he traps her in a corridor and tears away every last trace of his cool, distant facade. Shi Yue puts on a distant air. “Mr. Bo, we’ve already broken up.” “Then let’s get back together.” “I have a fiancé.” Bo Hexing holds her chin, his thumb brushing her lips. “Sweetheart, whether you have a fiancé has never stopped me from wanting you. I don’t mind being the other man.” After their old feelings flare up again, their relationship remains hidden, kept out of sight. She is an illegitimate daughter who must live in the shadows, insignificant and lowly; he is the exalted heir to the Bo family, a man of noble status. No one knows that in this unequal relationship, he is willing to take the submissive role. At a dinner party, she unexpectedly runs into her childhood sweetheart. The man is gentle and refined, smiling warmly at her. From a distance, Bo Hexing grips his champagne glass until it creaks. After the party, he traps her inside the cramped car. The seat is reclined, and the space is so tight that even their breathing tangles together. “I don’t like the way you look at that man.” The usually unruly heir has red-rimmed eyes now, pleading hoarsely: “Baby, we’re not going to separate again, are we?” Shi Yue presses her lips together and says nothing. He lowers his head, his voice soft and frantic: “Make us public… please.”
