The Golden Crane Awards, livestreamed to the entire internet.
Jiang Li is set up by her stepsister, and fake evidence of her "promiscuous private life" suddenly appears on the big screen. The comments erupt, and brands terminate their contracts overnight.
Just as the host presses her with, "Is the father of your child a scumbag?"
The screen suddenly changes. Five-year-old Jiang Suisui appears on the video call and waves a little hand:
"That old man Fu Sihan is my dad. Are you all blind?"
The entire internet crashes.
The next second, the venue's dome is breached, and Fu Sihan rappels into the hall. Ignoring the screams all around him, he drops to one knee, scoops up his son, and drags Jiang Li away.
"You ran for five years. This time, make it up to me and our son."
Later, netizens uncover Jiang Li's many secret identities:
By day, she's a B-list actress who's been shelved; by night, she's L, an internationally renowned luxury designer.
On the surface, she's a single mother. In reality, she's the mastermind behind the hacker group Night Owl.
Fu Sihan looks at the little bundle in his arms who stole his blanket, then at Jiang Li, busy coding, and quietly pulls out a washboard.
"Honey, can I sleep in the bed tonight?"
