In 1944, a man who called himself "Old Zhao" was sent to the base area. He remembered all the Morse code and how to dismantle a gun with his bare hands, but not who he was or whose side he belonged to.
Zhou Ping, chief of the intelligence section of the military division, was ordered to identify him - was he really suffering from amnesia, or was he a "nail" put back by the enemy? What is even more bizarre is that three days later, the Japanese army sent a secret message claiming that "the swallows have returned to their nests." Who is Swallow? Is it Lao Zhao, or the person within the Intelligence Department who has been delivering letters?
Zhou Ping decided to keep Lao Zhao by her side and use a person who didn't know his position to catch a known insider.
