The Empress Goes Wild, and the Tyrant Hands Her a Knife

Lin Zhixia transmigrates into the body of an abandoned consort confined to the cold palace, and her first move is to go completely off the rails. The empress makes her kneel? She rolls in the snow and wails, “You’re going to kill me!” A scheming beauty brings her poisoned wine? She drains it, then grabs her and cries, “Let’s die together! Whoever runs is a coward.” From then on, no one in the harem dares mess with her. Emperor Xiao Jingheng frowns the first time he sees her. “Have you no sense of propriety?” Later, he brings the entire court to watch and asks, “Why aren’t you acting crazy today, my beloved consort?” She thinks pretending to be mad will let her lie flat, until she discovers that the empress wants her dead because she resembles the late emperor’s unforgettable first love, while the emperor indulges her because her mad antics remind him of his own lost true love. Lin Zhixia: “If you want me to be a substitute, pay extra.” Xiao Jingheng: “Would an empire be enough?”
