[Transmigrate to the Ming Dynasty + Merit System + Historical Intrigue + Fast-Paced Wish Fulfillment]
In the tenth year of the Hongwu reign, in the southern part of Yingtian Prefecture.
Shen Mu is squatting behind a wonton stall by the Qinhuai River, holding a bowl of leftover broth. A constable’s badge lies in front of him.
His monthly salary is three qian of silver, not enough to eat.
He’s a history graduate student who transmigrated here three days ago, and he’s so broke his pockets are empty.
Then he looks up at the Zuixian Tower across the street.
Five “porters” are surrounding a private room on the second floor. Inside sits Xu Da, Duke of Wei.
Shen Mu sets down his bowl, grabs the iron wok from the stove, and charges in.
That one charge sends him straight into the heart of the Ming dynasty’s seat of power.
