The Mystic Nine: Changsha in Turmoil

My name is Zhang Yuxing. I come from the year 2098 and was born into a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and martial artists. One day, I transmigrated into the Republican era and became the younger sister of Zhang Qishan, the leader of the Nine Gates, also known as Zhang Buddha. I spent years wandering with my brother, putting down roots in the turbulent city of Changsha.

The nine great families of Republican-era Changsha were collectively known as the Nine Gates. They controlled the trade in ancient artifacts and held sway over the region. Everyone knew their names. In the autumn of 1933, a strange ghost train appeared at Changsha Station, and eerie incidents began occurring one after another. My brother was ordered to investigate.

I accompanied Zhang Qishan and the Eighth Master as they searched for clues. Their trail eventually led to a hidden mine outside the city, a place the Japanese had been secretly watching for years, and one that concealed countless secrets.

To unravel the mystery of the mine, my brother sought help from Er Yuehong, a celebrated performer from the upper three gates. Yatou was my closest friend, but she had fallen gravely ill with a strange disease and was bedridden. Armed with medical knowledge from the future, I searched everywhere for a cure without success. Only after a painstaking investigation did I learn that the one thing capable of saving Yatou was hidden inside that fog-shrouded mine.
