Lost in the Bizarre Realm

[Infinite flow + mild horror + no female lead]

Twenty-six-year-old detective Jiang Chen is near death after a bizarre car accident when he is chosen by the mysterious “Haunt.” It is a purgatory for those on the brink of death, and a gambling den where they can win more time to live. Every instance is a trap built around supernatural rules, from the Death Apartment to Blood Moon Academy, from ghostly shadows in an old mansion to a cursed hospital. Players must clear each instance and break its curse within the time limit. The slightest mistake can get them devoured by a supernatural entity, and their bodies in the real world will die for good.

Jiang Chen has no superpowers, only the knowledge of yin and yang passed down by his grandmother and a detective’s keen mind. He cooperates with temporary teammates despite their mutual suspicion, using deduction to expose loopholes in the rules and ghost-hunting entities to fight vengeful spirits. Clearing each instance lets him repair his body and extend his life, but also brings him one step closer to uncovering the truth about the Haunt.

Eleven instances, eleven battles for survival. When he becomes the first person to clear them all, the Haunt’s consciousness offers him half of its power, at the cost of becoming the guardian who keeps light and darkness in balance. Seeing disasters ravage the real world as rifts in the Haunt multiply, Jiang Chen grips the bronze mirror his grandmother left behind. This life-or-death game needs new rules, and he is the one who will set them.
