In 2137, after the Third World War, the earth was reduced to a cyber wasteland—a city ruined by high-rise buildings. Three AI giants divided the world: the "Garden of Eden" that controlled neural networks, the "Iron Dome" that monopolized mechanical arms, and the "Gene Temple" that dominated biochemical transformation.
And Jiang Du is just a former black market hacker living in the seventh district at the bottom. He makes a living by repairing old-era prosthetics and reselling discarded chips.
Until that day, he picked up an abandoned AI core deep in the wasteland and implanted it into his body. A strange system pop-up window appeared in front of him:
"[Tip] You have become an NPC in "Wasteland Era". The game will be launched soon, and the first batch of 100,000 players is being loaded."
Jiang Du found that he had acquired two identities:
Externally, he is an inconspicuous wasteland scavenger in District 7; internally, he has the super authority of this core and can control the underlying rules of the entire game.
What's even more outrageous is that any instructions he issues will be translated into "system prompts" from the player's perspective.
Player: "Boss, how much is the reward for this main quest?"
Jiang Du: "The reward is to survive. If you die, I will permanently cancel your account."
Player: "... This NPC is so hardcore!"
While players are still scolding the game as "too difficult" and "the system is too dark", Jiang Du has begun to use the power of players to quietly rise in the seventh area.
He sends tasks to players and asks them to collect scarce resources in the wasteland for him; he disguises himself as a "mysterious NPC" and sells information and equipment among players;
