A Jiangxi Nanny Makes Her Way in Foshan in the 1990s

[1990s setting] [No rebirth or transmigration] [A girl from humble beginnings turns her life around]

In the 1990s countryside of Jiangxi, in an ordinary family that favors boys over girls, the second daughter is the one who has always been overlooked and mistreated.

Her eighteen-year-old older sister stays safely at home to learn tailoring, carefully looked after by the family. But at just fifteen, she is cruelly driven out by her mother and heads south alone to Foshan, where she becomes a live-in nanny.

New to the prosperous, unfamiliar southern city, she has no one to rely on and is timid and insecure. As a nanny, she faces constant cold looks and difficulties, experiences the many sides of human nature, and sees nothing but uncertainty ahead.

After being shunted from place to place and hitting one obstacle after another, she is taken in by a kindhearted person. Gritting her teeth, she enters a factory and works hard day after day on the assembly line, growing through every stumble along the way.

She breaks free from the cold restraints of her family, endures the unspoken hardships of life at the bottom, and gradually puts down roots amid the tides of the 1990s.

From a humble country nanny, she transforms into an independent, self-reliant woman. At last, she finds a gentle and loving partner, builds a home and a career, and finds lasting happiness in a place far from home.

The story of an ordinary girl who heads south to make her way in the world, a vivid tale of endurance, resilience, and turning her life around against all odds.
