Shinobu Kocho puffed out her cheeks, furiously drawing her sword and thrusting it straight at the tall man beside her.

But he made no attempt to dodge, looking completely at ease.

Just 0.01 seconds before the blade could reach him, Shinobu suddenly pulled back. She herself pitched forward like a kite with its strings cut.

“Ow!”

But the pain of hitting the ground never came. Instead, she was met by Mirai’s reassuring presence.

“Looks like my cute little butterfly still cares about her big brother.”

Looking down at Shinobu in his arms, Mirai affectionately tapped her on the nose.

“I-I only care about you in your dreams!”

Shinobu’s face turned red. She turned away, unwilling to look at Mirai’s irritating face.

“My, my, what are you two doing? You look so sweet together.”

Kanae slowly emerged from around the corner, watching the pair horse around with great interest.

Seeing her watching from the sidelines, Mirai felt mischievous. He spun around and swiftly switched the positions of his hands.

Amid a chorus of startled cries, Mirai scooped up the gloating Kanae with his other arm and pulled her into his embrace.

“You’re not getting away either, big butterfly.”

“My, my, Mirai, let go of me.”

Kanae protested with her words, but her body honestly leaned closer into his arms.

Mirai was left speechless.
