The Qian Dynasty's Empress Spoils Me Above All

Lin Che, from Shehong, Sichuan, was an utterly ordinary young man from the modern world. He woke up lying in a heap of corpses on an ancient battlefield. A bloodied woman was being hunted by men in black, and he rushed in on impulse, saving her from their blades. She was beautiful, but her eyes were as cold as knives. She didn’t say who she was, and he didn’t ask. During three days and nights on the run, he gave her his last mouthful of water. She silently took note. Just then, a voice rang out in his mind: “Affection +10. Redeem for steamed buns, clean water, bandages…” An Affection System? As long as this woman liked him, he could exchange affection for anything? He tried redeeming two steamed buns and handed them to her. She took a bite, and the look in her eyes shifted from wariness to gratitude. Three days later, a troop of soldiers knelt before her and called her “Your Majesty.” Only then did he learn that he had saved the female emperor of the Great Qian Dynasty, who was being hunted by a usurper. What she herself didn’t know was that her wet nurse came from Shehong, Shu. The poem she had recited since childhood, “Before me, no ancients; after me, no successors. I ponder the vastness of heaven and earth, and weep alone in grief,” was written by Chen Ziang, a great poet from Lin Che’s hometown. When the frontier was in danger, he used the System to redeem medicines and weapons, then led five thousand men to drive back fifty thousand Northern Di cavalry. When Jiangnan fell into chaos, he introduced reforms to commercial taxes, filling the treasury that had once been empty. Her attitude toward him changed from coldness to trust, from trust to reliance, and from reliance to, “Lin Che, you saved my life. I’ll grant you a lifetime of wealth and glory.”

“Your Majesty, you can keep the wealth and glory… Could you just max out my Affection first?”
