In ancient times, strange incidents plagued the Great Wilderness tribes as chaos first gave way to order: livestock vanished without a trace, inhuman howls sounded at night, and sacred totems shattered for no reason. To protect his tribe, young hunter A Hu, strong and sharp-eyed with a knack for tracking, teamed up with Ling Yue, a mysterious herbalist who knew spells but feared bugs, and Da Zhuang, a good-natured stonemason who could move boulders but always stepped into traps. Together, they formed a laughable trio of amateur detectives. They ventured deep into forbidden ruins, where they encountered “ridiculous villains” such as skeleton soldiers who told corny jokes, tree spirits who loved pranks, and a river god who got drunk. Bit by bit, they uncovered the truth behind the theft of the “Heart of Chaos”: the mastermind was none other than a tribal elder who had conspired with an ancient evil spirit to resurrect his dead wife. In the end, the trio used “comical tactics” to avert disaster, such as Da Zhuang knocking out his own allies with boulders and Ling Yue using itching powder against monsters, and protected the peace of the Great Wilderness.
