The city is sick.
Every seventy-two hours, at three o'clock in the morning, the world silently resets. New rules are generated in a corner of the city - not rules written on paper, but embedded in reality in a twisted, obscure, and almost malicious form. Find it, understand it, abide by it and you will live three more days.
Those who fail will not die. They will disappear. Like it never existed.
When Gong Ling Xiaoye entered the regular city for the first time, he thought he was a novice.
Until he saw his photo deep in the B2 floor of the abandoned subway station. In the photo, he is wearing unfamiliar clothes, standing in a place he has never been before, with an expression on his face that he has never seen before. There is a line of words written on the back of the photo frame:
"Gong Ling Xiao Ye, reset day cycle 7. Don't open the closet."
He has died here six times. Each reset will erase the memory, but the body's "premonition of crisis" will remain - it is an instinct tempered by six rounds of life and death, and it is the only legacy that transcends cycles.
Now, the seventh round begins.
Rule One: Don't look back.
Rule Two: Don't answer any--when it's asked in your voice.
Rule Three:?
There was something behind him that mirrored his every move. The voice above repeated his every word in his own intonation. There is always one more staircase than you think. And in that room that shouldn't exist, the closet door is always closed.
Gongling Xiaoye must piece together the fragments he left behind in the first six rounds before one countdown after another reaches zero - and at the same time figure out one problem:
Is he still the same person in the seventh round?
