Modern showbiz: blacklisted and canceled, a love affair with a replacement, and a groveling chase
Post-apocalyptic wasteland: battles for control of the base, struggles against human nature, and survival against the odds
Two worlds intertwined: cross-world aid, borrowed abilities, and bonds forged in life and death
Shen Lingjing, a famous showbiz beauty with no talent, is being attacked online as a woman who “slept her way to the top” when her blood falls on a bronze mirror left by her grandmother. Through it, she encounters Lu Zhishui in a post-apocalyptic world.
It is the first year of a world overrun by mutated beasts, where humanity has fallen apart. Lu Zhishui, a former college student, lost her parents when they died protecting her, and her brother disappeared after drawing monsters away from her. For six years, she has been alone in the ruins, waiting to die.
One ancient mirror. Two despairing souls. Shen Lingjing sends over a bottle of water and an apple, and in return Lu Zhishui teaches her the “rules of survival in the apocalypse”: act strong, read people, and run first.
From then on, the useless star raises an apocalypse queen through the mirror. On a wilderness survival variety show, she grabs a venomous snake with her bare hands and predicts danger, astonishing the whole internet: “The beauty queen has become a warrior!” Her metaphysical persona goes viral, and after borrowing Lu Zhishui’s extrasensory abilities, she exposes a two-faced rival and delivers a face-slapping to a movie queen in front of everyone. She rises from a third-rate stand-in actress to a crowned movie queen.
Meanwhile, Lu Zhishui wins people over with modern supplies. From lone wolf to leader of a base, she builds “Mirror City” and becomes the queen of the East. She searches for her brother, fights hordes of beasts, and uncovers conspiracies, with the person on the other side of the mirror providing support every step of the way.
