The novel takes "Wisteria" as its introduction and tells the story of the ten-year emotional bond between art scholar Gu Qingyuan and painter Lin Wei, as well as the warm family they weave together with their daughter Teng Teng.
The story begins in the wisteria corridor of Jiangnan University in Suzhou, where Gu Qingyuan and Lin Wei first met - because of a book and an accident, the two souls quietly approached under the shadow of the flowers. Ten years later, they reunited in New York, and Wisteria became the witness of their love and the most tender background of their daughter Teng Teng's childhood.
