In the tenth century BC, Ji Man, King Mu of Zhou, traveled west to Kunlun to visit the legendary Queen Mother of the West. He was looking for immortality, but he saw fifty-two bronze plates - the Golden Chamber - in a stone palace.
Engraved on the golden chamber is the history of the global conquests of the Xia and Shang dynasties: the gods descended from the ladder to help mankind build an empire across Europe and Asia; the Shang king was called the "Emperor", co-ruling the world with the gods; and the founding of the Zhou Dynasty was actually a deal with the rebellious gods - lowering one's status in the name of "Son of Heaven" at the expense of cutting off the passage between humans and gods in exchange for the position of co-lord of the world.
King Mu stood in front of the pieced together map of the Golden Chamber and saw the truth about what had been burned by Zhou Gongdan...
