Yan Ran transfers to Anlang No. 1 High School, where her deskmate is Sun Yan. He is sunny and cheerful, and ranks among the top five students in their grade. She is cool and slow to warm up, a transfer student who has grown used to shouldering everything alone since her parents divorced.
They sit together, unaware that they are the online duo partners who have known each other for six months: “Brother Yan” and “Summer Night Breeze.” Online, they talk about everything; face-to-face, they are polite and reserved. Then one day, Yan Ran finds a sheet of scratch paper on his desk covered in reasoning. It turns out he knew all along.
Her first reaction isn't delight, but anger at being deceived. It takes him a long time to explain, draw closer, and wait. From their senior year of high school to university, from deskmates to a long-distance relationship, from a bowl of porridge to a ring. It takes her a very long time to learn to accept someone's kindness, and even longer to admit that she fell for him long ago.
A story about someone who finds it incredibly hard to fall in love, and is finally moved by someone who truly cares.
