As the story unfolds, Chu Ci’s floating island grows from a shabby raft into an ocean fortress equipped with an anti-star cannon. When the Sea God of an alien civilization tries to descend, Chu Ci switches to fishing line made of black-hole material and casts with a cold laugh. “No one in these waters can snap my line!”
