My Clan Sent Me Down the Road of the Martial Exams, and I Built a Prince's Mansion as Top Graduate

[Military Champion] [Harmonious Family] [Lighthearted] [Ensemble Cast] [Not a fast-paced, mindless power fantasy; it starts slowly, so read at your own discretion]

Gu Mingwu is reborn into a farming family in the Great Yan dynasty.

The good news: His family has no infighting or petty squabbles, and no one is fighting over dividing the family estate. They're close-knit! His second younger brother has a talent for business, and his third younger brother has what it takes to become the top scholar.

The bad news: The Great Yan redistributes farmland every five years. The Gu family has spent five years farming poor-quality fields, and unless they give the village head a bribe this year, they'll be stuck with poor land again.

But if the family has someone who has earned an official degree!

Then someone like the village head wouldn't dare abuse his power, and the family would even get more land!

That's the power of status!

In that case!

Farm boys can become top scholars!

But has anyone ever heard of a farm boy becoming the top military graduate?!!!

And while scholars argue with reason and words,

I, Gu Mingwu, argue with reason using only my fists!

The civil and military officials of the court: Wait, I really am trying to reason with you! I'm not just being difficult, so why are you holding a blade to my neck?
