The 1980s: From an Agricultural Machinery Factory to Boosting the Nation's Industry

Lu Xiangdong was 50 years old in his previous life. After working himself to death while tackling the final obstacle in the development of high-end CNC machine tools, he was reborn in 1980 in the body of a 22-year-old man with the same name.

The original owner had just been fired from the county agricultural machinery factory for getting into a fight. His family had nothing, and his younger sister was about to be sold to an old bachelor in exchange for a bride price.

Drawing on a lifetime of industrial experience, Lu Xiangdong starts by repairing a scrapped tractor and saves the township agricultural machinery factory from the brink of bankruptcy.

He seizes every opportunity brought by reform and opening up, moving from agricultural machinery to machine tools, from home appliances to cars, and from civilian industry to military supply chains...

Step by step, he breaks foreign technological monopolies and builds a complete industrial system of China's own, making up for the lifelong regret of watching his country be strangled by foreign dependence in his previous life.
