[Strong female lead + political intrigue in a turbulent era + plot-driven]
[No System + no golden finger + no pocket dimension]
[No padding + no contrived melodrama + no recycled plotlines]
The Sui dynasty is crumbling, and warlords vie for supremacy.
She was born the legitimate daughter of a duke’s household, yet steps into a world thrown into turmoil. Amid the clash of blades in the martial world and the treacherous schemes of court and palace, she carves out a bloody path through sheer skill and the edge of her sword.
Li Jing, Su Dingfang, Princess Nanyang, Empress Zhangsun, Qin Qiong, Dou Jiande, and other heroes of the age all take the stage, joining her to witness the Tang Empire rise from the flames of war.
How can I put it? The writing is good and the fighting scenes are exciting, but the heroine does not feel like a time traveler, like someone who has been forced to travel through memories. There is very little emotional foreshadowing. It makes me feel sick when I see the bloody scenes. Also, the fourth daughter of Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Princess Gaomi and the fifth daughter Princess Changguang, are not idiots.
