Although this is a fanfic of The Hungry Lamb: Traveling a Thousand Miles in Late Ming China, I actually picked up this abandoned fanfic again after The Sad Pigeon made me so angry… If I get the chance, I'll bring in characters from The Sad Pigeon: Ten Days After the Fall of the City, but I'll definitely have to change them (the original characters are so hollow, just tearjerking, prepackaged tags).
No System, and the protagonist isn't invincible. The middle part will probably have an episodic structure. Any passages from Liang and Mansui's perspectives are written in first person, so readers won't be told everything.
This is probably a story about Liang and Mansui in a parallel world, so it's alternate history. Historical details are key to the plot, so sorry, I can't spoil them in the introduction. The style leans toward a road movie, and the story continues from the original's “Nevermore” ending.
The main focus is Liang's inner redemption and Mansui's growth, so there probably won't be much sweetness.
It's a gentler timeline, where the world is far less rotten than in the original. Liang gets his wish, and starts out as a hapless wanderer. I may make him suffer a little, since he did bad things in the original story and deserves some punishment.
So there will probably be plenty of historical and geographical errors, since I haven't done the research. Please point them out if you spot any.
