When Chen Mo woke in a glass tank in a cold laboratory, he discovered he was no longer human.
No heartbeat, no breath, no blood. His chest was empty of organs, too.
Only a mass of pitch-black fire burned deep within him.
The demon hunters burst in and branded him a monster.
A monster tore open his chest, but he didn’t bleed.
As he hovered on the brink of death, he heard a girl calling to him from the depths of his soul.
“Chen Mo, stay alive.”
And so the black flames reignited, and his broken bones grew back.
He died and came back to life.
But this immortality was never a gift.
Every time he died, Chen Mo plunged into a nightmare.
