Jiang Li, a researcher at the Provincial Folklore Institute, entered Wuyin Village alone in the snow-capped mountains to investigate a folk ritual of "living funerals". The night she entered the village, she witnessed a funeral ceremony that should not exist: in the ancestral hall, a black coffin was half open, and inside lay a living person with his eyes wrapped in white cloth.
