Hua Yong was taken back to the Hua family’s old estate at the age of five, separating him from Gao Tu, the housekeeper’s son who had been like an older brother to him. Over the next ten years, family scheming and training in a secret prison stripped away every trace of softness, teaching him to survive behind a mask. At eighteen, Gao Tu disguised himself as a beta and entered the Hua household.
