Everyone knows that the First Emperor built the Great Wall to defend against the northern tribes and burned books and buried scholars to keep the people ignorant.
But two thousand years after his death, a hostage from a frontier state glimpsed another truth in a broken stele:
The wall stretching ten thousand miles was not a shield protecting Great Qin, but a prison holding the world captive.
The so-called “book burning” was not meant to destroy knowledge, but to conceal a secret capable of turning heaven and earth upside down.
While the court still bled over imperial power and the frontier still fought for survival, he stood at the end of the Great Wall and sneered at the vast landscape before him:
“Win this game, and I claim ten thousand miles of empire. Lose, and all living things become the sacrifice. And me? I’m going to flip the board.”
