God abandoned the world one night three hundred years ago.
No miracles fell, no divine battles roared, and those aloof beings who controlled the order of all living beings fell completely silent without warning. Instead, there was a gray fog with no beginning and no end, flooding the continent with an unstoppable force, burying civilization and order together.
The fog is alive. It erodes reality, distorts laws, turns familiar streets into devouring forbidden areas, and causes solid buildings to decay and collapse silently. It strips away memories, tampering with cognition, turning loved ones who accompany you day and night into hideous and strange faces, and turns once-stable daily routines into nightmares engraved in the bone marrow. Those dark, filthy, and nameless beings that were once firmly suppressed by the gods awaken in the fog, wandering in the ruins, feeding on the lives and spirits of mortals.
Humanity survives in despair. Some people are completely crazy, sinking in the endless darkness, becoming the nourishment of the fog; some are huddled within the high walls, relying on the remaining resources to survive, but still unable to escape the strange penetration and erosion; there are also a group of people who voluntarily walked out of the safe zone, using flesh and blood as shields, and will as blades, calling themselves night watchmen, supporting mankind's last line of defense in the boundless darkness.
My name is Chu Feng, but I am just an insignificant young man in troubled times. I originally just wanted to live, nothing more. Until the fog swallowed up everything in me and trapped me in this long-abandoned mental hospital.
This is the edge of the fog, a dead end in the world, and a place where countless madmen and weird people reside. Old facilities, mottled walls, traces of three hundred years ago, and the dense atmosphere outside the window that never dissipates.
