The Little Master of Meishan

The Meishan tradition of shamanic Daoism has a long history. Zhang Ling, a young Meishan ritual master (a common term for a Daoist priest), began studying the Dao as a child. He slayed evil zombies and subdued mountain demons, then went to university in Yunnan, where one extraordinary adventure followed another. He visited the heavens, descended beneath the sea, and battled strange creatures on the border. He even flooded Myanmar's capital before quietly withdrawing from public life and concealing himself at court.
