Every chapter ends with a picture of a senior sister for everyone to enjoy, and the author's notes at the end of each chapter include a little bonus. Lu Chen is a PhD candidate in mathematics at one of Earth's top universities. During a numerical simulation experiment, he was sucked through a blue vortex on his screen and into a world of immortal cultivation. When he awoke, he had become a six-year-old orphan, taken in by the Qingyun Sect.
Twelve years later, at eighteen, he was at the third level of Qi Refining and widely regarded as the sect's most hopeless disciple. The reason was a seal someone had placed over his dantian, suppressing eighty-five percent of his spiritual power. He had only discovered this secret three days ago. Using an ancient tome called The Art of Heavenly Calculations, which he had picked up from a street stall, he broke through the seal's first layer, and his cultivation soared from the third level of Qi Refining to the early stage of Foundation Establishment.
But breaking the seal triggered a chain reaction. When the sect leader discovered traces of a seal left by a mighty Deity Transformation cultivator on Lu Chen's dantian, he feared getting caught up in trouble and expelled him from the sect.
Lu Chen left Qingyun Sect with the few belongings he had. After surviving seven assassination attempts, three poisonings, and two elaborate traps, he fled, covered in wounds, to Blackwater Pool. In a cave at the bottom of the pool, he sensed the emergence of the Azure Wood Longevity Art, an ancient wood-element cultivation technique said to grant eternal life and bring the dead back to life.
At the same time, the phenomenon surrounding the art's emergence alarmed the entire cultivation world. Qingyun Sect sent three Foundation Establishment inner disciples to investigate: eldest senior sister Shen Bingyan, second senior sister Liu Ruyan, and third senior sister Hua Nongying. They were ordered to “investigate the cause of the phenomenon and report immediately if they found anything.”
The three senior sisters spotted Lu Chen, the outer sect's useless junior brother who had been expelled, just as he climbed out of Blackwater Pool. Hua Nongying recognized him.
It looks good, let's take a look together.
