[The female lead is incredibly powerful, a once-in-an-era genius. She has a rich emotional life, and there is more than one male lead, all of them outstanding in their own right.]
Lan Jingning was a once-in-an-era genius and a cultivator who began her journey on the path of the common people. The cultivation world was full of talented people, but even its geniuses were just geniuses in her eyes, because she was simply too powerful.
In her prime, young and impetuous, she led gifted young men and women like herself on adventures. Together, they once exterminated demons and brought the light of justice to the world. They grew into the pillars of their respective sects, strong enough to defeat wicked demons and the vile pests who threw themselves in the way of justice. They were a light to some, but an obstacle to others.
At the height of her power, Lan Jingning was betrayed by the very people she had protected. Her Dao heart shattered, and she became the first person in history to leave her sect of her own accord. She chose to leave the stage and return home to Peach Blossom Valley, where she healed in seclusion. Her injuries recovered, but she still could not rebuild her Dao heart. Everyone knew that without a Dao heart, one could not ascend. She was tired and no longer wanted revenge. She only wanted to lose herself in drink and dreams, then grow old in peace. But because of schemes laid by those with ulterior motives, she left the valley again a few years later and was forced back into the world. Then she met old friends again, and old feelings resurfaced.
She discovered that her old friends had been framed and entangled in karmic ties. Her peaceful retirement was no longer an option, so she would just have to deal with them first!
