An adaptation of the original work, with differences in how the plot unfolds. OOC warning, for the sake of the story. ⚠ Includes all characters from the Mo Xiang Tong Xiu trilogy, including supporting characters, and is told mainly from Xie Lian’s perspective.
Xie Lian, a freshman at Xianle University, wears a curse-shackle bracelet left by his father on his left wrist. He thinks he is just an ordinary history student.
On his first day, he is summoned alone by the university president, Jun Wu. Behind those gentle eyes lies the sharp gaze of a predator sizing up its prey.
Hua Cheng from the basketball club is always by his side. He wears a black eyepatch over his right eye, and a silver butterfly is tattooed on his collarbone. “Senior, I’ll always protect you.”
In the rare books room, the white-haired transfer student Mei Nianqing hands him an old photograph from the Republican era. The person in it looks exactly like Xie Lian.
His roommate He Xuan opens a black notebook late at night, revealing a century of blood debts owed by the Shi family. On the basketball court, Shi Qingxuan waves a folding fan and smiles brightly, unaware that his good fortune was “taken” from someone else.
Cracks begin to appear in the curse-shackle bracelet. Fragments of memories from eight hundred years ago surge back: the Kingdom of Xianle, three ascensions, a fall into the demonic path, and a willing march to his death.
Jun Wu stands by the window of the administration building, holding an identical white jade ring. “This time, I won’t let go again.”
Hua Cheng steps in front of Xie Lian, his left eye burning with eight hundred years of obsession. “This time, let me protect you.”
Now Xie Lian must choose: remain an ordinary person with sealed memories, or shatter the curse-shackle, remember everything, and face the person he was in a past life, who was willing to die for all living beings.
Beneath the facade of a modern campus lies a feud spanning eight hundred years.
Good-looking but a bit compositional
