A Straight Woman's Journey in a World Where Men Rule and Women Are Revered

Book review of "The Straight Girl's Journey to Another World", an ancient saying about power and strategy. This chapter of Jiangnan plot with Jiang Si as the protagonist breaks away from the common harem love routine in ancient Chinese proverbs. It closely interweaves the three clues of women entering the court, the suffering of the people, and the secret palace of Jianghu. The layout is broad and thick, and the plot game is extremely tense. There is no weak opposition between good and evil in the book, and each character has a complete position and motivation. The villain Xie Linyuan is not purely vicious. He has been dormant for many years and stirred up Jiangnan. He hides the accumulated old grudges of Canxia Pavilion. He acts gently but is ruthless at every step. He calculates people's hearts, exploits noble families, instigates conflicts between generals, and sets up layers of traps to trap Jiang Si. The characters are three-dimensional and vivid, breaking the stereotype of facial expressions. The heroine Jiang Si is the biggest highlight of the book. She does not rely on the emperor's protection, does not show off her temporary courage, and knows how to break the situation with silence. Faced with the multiple crises of refugee unrest, collusion between nobles and assassins, she adhered to the bottom line of legal principles, posted notices to regulate household registration, and collected corruption account books and acted steadily. Even if she was trapped in multiple traps, she still calmly dismantled every step of her opponent's calculations. At the same time, she attaches great importance to love and righteousness, thinking about Shen Yan who is trapped in the sky prison, and Pei Yan who is trapped in southern Xinjiang without food. She takes in the brothers Fan Yi and Fan Jing who are responsible for the serious crime of bullying and faked their death to escape. The narrative structure of the three-party confrontation is particularly exquisite. The three lines of Gusu Xingyuan, Hanshan Temple, and Qianli Zichen Palace are running in parallel. Jiang Si is firmly in the center, Xie Linyuan secretly builds momentum, and Emperor Xiao Chengyuan remotely takes the lead in the capital. The tension of the game in the air is full. The plot twists naturally, and the foreshadowings are intertwined. From the jade remnant, the farm account books to the grain transportation routes, small clues connect the entire Jiangnan chaos. The story not only describes the power struggle, but also focuses on the suffering of the people at the bottom of the class. It uses land annexation and the deduction of military rations to expose the shortcomings of the court. It has both a sense of power and real compassion. The text in the book is exquisite and full of atmosphere. The description of the autumn frost streets, the attic near the river, the late night candlelight and other environmental descriptions highlight the undercurrent of the situation. The characters' psychology is delicately portrayed. It is a high-quality ancient strategy book that combines writing style, structure and depth.

It's beautiful. The author is asking for updates. I'll give it a thumbs up.
