"My name is Bai Chi, and I am a repairman. As I continue to repair, I find that it is time for this world to repair."
Bai Chi, the owner of the "Ancient and Modern Restoration Studio" on Baixiang Old Street in Yujiang City, has good craftsmanship but is a bit stubborn.
There are three biggest confusions in his life: what does his grandfather's dying words, "You haven't finished learning yet," mean; why repairing a pocket watch in the middle of the night resulted in a glowing jade ring; and why the antique shop owner named Hu Shiyi looked at him as if he had been waiting for sixty-four years.
Later he found out. The jade ring is a relic of the craftsman saint of the Nuwa tribe, the box of creation is the key to ancient inheritance, and the person Hu Shiyi is waiting for - is him.
Three thousand years of waiting, sixty-four years of exploring the road, and seventy-two master craftsmen perished. The Classic of Mountains and Seas is not a myth, but a list of the dead; the mythical beast is not a monster, but a person who has been waiting for three thousand years.
Bai Chi doesn't want to be a hero, he's just a guy who fixes things. But he repaired and repaired, and he repaired the Box of Creation, opened the Tomb of the Warring States Period, repaired the Gui Xu, and repaired the Kyushu Cauldron. Then he erased his memory.
Every autumn, he would stand on the rooftop of Baixiang Old Street and watch the sycamore leaves in Yujiang City fall golden all over the ground. He didn't remember who he was waiting for, or the phrase "go forward, don't look back."
But he remembered that he had to watch the autumn of his life for two people.
