Deep in the remote mountain ranges of the Guangnan region lies an isolated ancient village called Lingtou Village. It preserves an old and eerie folk ritual known as "Dancing at Lingtou," but the village's version differs from those practiced elsewhere. The ritual has two forms: "White-Faced Dancing at Lingtou" is a customary prayer for blessings, while "Red-Faced Dancing at Lingtou" is a "blood sacrifice dance" performed to ward off great disasters. It requires "seven sinners" to serve as sacrifices and "atone" before the Nuo deity. Otherwise, calamity will spread throughout the village.
For three hundred years, this secret has been passed down through generations of Lingtou villagers, unknown to outsiders. When a psychology professor returns to her eerie hometown, she discovers that behind the massacre of her family lies a Nuo deity's curse passed down for three centuries.
