Core setting: In 210 BC, during Qin Shihuang's fifth eastward tour, Zhao Gao and Li Si tampered with the imperial edict, and Hu Hai succeeded to the throne. The protagonist Ying Che (a branch of the Qin clan and a subordinate of Meng Tian) unexpectedly obtains a Cangbi engraved with the remnant text "Ordered by heaven, he will live forever", which contains the other half of the dragon talisman of the national jade seal, as well as Fusu's secret edict.
- Key plot: Ying Che witnesses Meng Tian's death and flees with the Cang Bi. On the way, he meets the righteous Jing Li and the Mohist heir Chu Mo. The three of them sneak into Xianyang and try to contact the son Zi Ying, but they fall into the "clan purge" trap set by Zhao Gao.
- Ups and downs: Ying Che thought Zi Ying was an ally, but found out that Zi Ying had already been secretly attached to Hu Hai and wanted to use his Cang Jade to claim credit from Zhao Gao.
