In 1980, in Sanqiao Village, everyone hoped for a house full of sons. Li Bingyi’s family had three girls in a row, making them the village’s laughingstock as a family destined to die out.
Their grandmother was mean, their uncle schemed against them, and their father was paralyzed. Hardship came crashing down on them all at once.
But the three Li girls proved themselves against all odds.
Who says girls shouldn’t study? They studied anyway, determined to make something of themselves.
Who says girls deserve to be bullied? Anyone who dared mistreat their family would find them ready to fight to the death.
Who says a woman’s place is at home, serving her husband and raising children? They were determined to build careers of their own.
The eldest was steady and resilient, holding the family together while studying hard to change her fate.
The second was sharp-tongued and quick-witted, decisive and strategic. She refused to follow the usual path, seizing every opportunity to make money and build a career.
The youngest was a genius. Though the baby of the family, she was their most levelheaded strategist.
The three sisters refused to please others, refused to be weak, and never turned against one another.
When anyone called them burdens, they proved their worth and left their critics speechless.
When anyone tried to bully one of them, the sisters stood united and fought back together.
From “burdens” in other people’s eyes to a new generation of women.
Those who once looked down on them could only gaze up in the end, watching them become women their whole village and family could never hope to measure up to.
The structure of the story is compact, as if I have really returned to the 1970s and 1980s. The plot is attractive and I want to keep reading 👍👍👍
I like to listen to works with this kind of subject matter, they are down-to-earth and reflect all kinds of things in the world. Nice.
This novel is so well written! Very nice!
The authenticity is strong and the description is vivid, reflecting another side of society. Very nice! Give modern young people spiritual strength!
