Please Call Me Lord Clerk

Down-on-his-luck scholar Shen Qingci becomes a low-ranking clerk at the Jiangning County Office to save his mother. He only meant to earn enough to get by, but then he goes on a rampage with nothing but the Great Ming Code at his command! He takes on deputy magistrates, tears down corrupt gentry, solves wrongful convictions, and fights graft. Starting as a lowly copy clerk anyone can push around, he rises all the way to become a criminal affairs clerk whom the people send off on their knees! No golden finger, no powerful backers. He relies on the smallest details to distinguish truth from lies, and on his own courage to uphold justice. Every step in the official world is perilous, but he wields the law like a blade, cuts down every corrupt villain, and protects the people!
