The Librarian's Rules of Terror
[Absolutely True Rules: Rules 1, 2, and 3 are all true and must never be broken]
This handbook contains ten rules, three of which are false. Follow the true rules strictly to protect yourself and trigger the escape condition.
1. If the lights at the end of the hallway turn dark red, turn around and go downstairs immediately.
2. Do not respond to footsteps in the hallway, no matter how familiar they sound.
3. After the library closes, do not stay in the reading area for more than ten minutes.
4. During your closing inspection, if you see books sliding off the shelves by themselves, put them back in their original places and wipe the dust off the shelves.
5. If you hear pages turning in the reading area, you may call softly for a staff member to check whether any readers have been left behind.
6. After the library closes each day, inspect every chair in the reading area and make sure they are all tucked under the tables.
7. When the first rays of morning sunlight shine into the lobby, take the brass key from the front desk and leave through the main entrance to escape the library successfully.
8. If you notice the clock in the reading area running backward, adjust the hands to the correct time immediately to prevent time from becoming disrupted.
9. During your shift, you may take a short break in the break room. There is no limit on the length of your break, and you may stay as long as you like.
10. After closing, if you find that the library doors aren't locked securely, lock them again immediately to keep the outside air from entering.
I'm a newbie writing a book, so please bear with me. Sorry, I have to stop updating for a day today, and I will continue updating tomorrow. If you have any questions, is anyone really watching?
