What the Heck, My Whole Family Transmigrated!

Li Cang'er, a modern criminal investigation expert, wakes up in the capital as the notorious troublemaker of the Six Gates.

The original owner's family died by burning charcoal: her father was a master chef, her mother a top-notch manager, and she a criminal investigator. All three crossed over in the same bolt of lightning.

Everyone at the capital's Six Gates knows what happened during one temporary assignment. The living Yama, Wei Zheng, didn't even look up. “Send her back. The Northern Garrison Office doesn't take women.”

And just like that, they were enemies.

Li Cang'er isn't upset. She lets her expertise speak for itself, using autopsies, profiling, bloodstain analysis, and crime scene reconstruction to solve cold cases one after another.

The more the cases unfold, the more Wei Zheng's disdain turns to respect, then admiration for her talent, and eventually... Everyone in the capital can see that the way the living Yama looks at her isn't quite right.

Her childhood friend shows up and calls her “Little Sister Cang'er” in the street. For once, Wei Zheng panics and demands, “Do you like him?”

Li Cang'er is taken aback. “He's a good person. He'd make a good family member.”

Wei Zheng stares at her. “When it comes to a good person, you can choose wrong. But family... Li Cang'er, choose carefully.”

She doesn't understand.

So he spells it out: “Li Cang'er, I mean, choose me.”

Only later does she learn that this man, who never made exceptions, has bent the rules and changed his principles for her.

And through case after case, she also discovers that she has found the person in this world who understands her best and loves her most.

From “The Northern Garrison Office doesn't take women” to “It has to be her,” Wei Zheng spends his whole life making exceptions, all for her.
