The vast Three Realms are divided into the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm, the Realm of All Living Beings, and the Netherworld. The mortal realm is boundless, comprising the Eastern Qingcang Realm, the Western Burning Heaven Realm, the Northern Icefield Realm, the Southern Myriad Demons Realm, and the Central Divine Land. The realms are separated by turbulent void currents, and only ancient teleportation arrays offer a difficult passage between them.
Since the end of the ancient war between gods and demons, the gods of the Immortal Realm have fallen and the passages between the Three Realms have collapsed. Without guidance from the Immortal Realm, the cultivation world of the mortal realm has seen its spiritual energy grow ever thinner, making the path to immortality increasingly arduous. Cultivators in the mortal realm begin by drawing qi into their bodies, then build an immortal foundation, condense a golden core, transform it into a Nascent Soul, form a primordial spirit, cross the tribulation of lightning, and ascend the Immortal Platform. There are seven major realms in all, each divided into nine levels. Every step forward brings another tribulation.
