Don't Mess with the Guy Who Sweeps Up Pill Scraps, He's a Real Rascal

[Cunning, Cautious Schemer] [Useless Protagonist] [Play the pig to eat the tiger] [Decisive and Ruthless] [Destroying the Evidence] [Fortune from Alchemy] [No System] Chen Yuan is a lowly menial disciple of the Xuantian Sect. Born with defective alchemy meridians, he is written off by the entire sect as having no future in alchemy. They consider him unworthy even of carrying furnaces for inner sect disciples or sweeping up alchemy residue. He is subjected to scorn and merciless exploitation. Every day, he can do nothing but the hardest, most exhausting work: clearing waste from the alchemy rooms and discarding broken magical artifacts. His life is worse than an animal's. Then, while clearing abandoned magical artifacts from a mass grave on the back mountain, he finds a battered, drafty old alchemy furnace. When a drop of blood from his fingertip accidentally falls inside, he awakens an ancient Artifact Spirit that has slumbered within it! This seemingly worthless furnace is actually a heaven-defying treasure. It needs no one to operate it: simply feed it alchemy waste, and it will automatically refine and purify it, turning the worthless into wonders and producing perfect pills one after another. Even broken flying swords and fragments of damaged magical artifacts can be reforged inside, and may even transform into treasures of far greater power!
