I Said I Was Showing Off My Strength, Are You Deaf?

On the surface, Strength is just an ancient prison-school fighting style with a high-damage left punch and a high-damage right punch. But when a Strength martial artist latches onto you at close range, you learn what stats really mean. When they beat all your spiritual power out of you, you learn what staying power means. When they chase you down relentlessly, you learn what a savage mauling looks like. And when they combine Strength with other schools, you learn what it means to be downright evil.

Whenever someone questions whether Strength is overpowered, Strength martial artists always say, “Our school is imposing but mighty, obscure, disadvantaged, short on resources, hard to cultivate, out of step with the meta, dependent on physical techniques, useless unless you get up close, easy to kite, lacking ranged attacks, reliant on trained melee skills, low in damage, short on inheritances, devoid of mechanics, demanding of skill, easy to dodge, and a relic of a bygone era.”

Strength martial artists are the craftiest of all:

They punch an earthquake to a stop, then insist it was an Earth-path killer move;

They slap someone stupid, then insist it was a Wisdom-path killer move;

They knock someone out with a backhand, then insist it was a Dream-path killer move;

Their punches whip up a tornado, then they insist it was a Wind-path killer move;

They chop someone in half with a hand blade, then insist it was a Sword-path killer move;

They punch someone into a cloud of blood, then insist it was a Blood-path killer move;

They punch a river into stopping its flow, then insist it was a Water-path killer move;

A certain nameless martial artist once asked a Strength-path expert,

“So you're saying Strength martial artists are grandmasters of every school?”

“It's not that complicated. Our raw power is just huge.”
