Tokyo: Today, the Young Lady Mistook Me for a Confession Again

[Japanese light novel + slice of life + romance + cultural differences + comedy + one heroine + pure love + slow burn + no golden finger + This premise is perfect for writing a novel, y’know!] “If we lose, I’ll take your last name,” Lin Zhaoyang loudly promised the girl in front of him. “W-wait! Take my last name? Does this Chinese guy want to marry into my family?” The girl’s face turned bright red. In China, saying something like that is usually just a bold declaration or an oath. In Japan, however, taking someone else’s last name is often seen as a marriage vow. So the two, from different cultural backgrounds, find themselves facing misunderstandings: he charges ahead with his direct, Chinese-style enthusiasm, while the Japanese people around him are more reserved. And the Japanese girl turns bright red every time she gets the wrong idea. “Hey, you womanizer. How many girls have you confessed to today?” The girl approached Lin Zhaoyang, brandishing a cleaver and sharpening it with a menacing look. “W-wait, Rin! It’s all a misunderstanding! I really only want to marry you!” “Huh?” And so begins a romantic journey full of misunderstandings caused by cultural differences.
